Dept. of Rehabilitation Medicine

“Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or Physiatry” is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairment or disability. The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Capitol Medical Center is being run by well trained Physiatrists or Rehabilitation Physicians (medical doctors who specialize in the field).

These physiatrists are involved in providing a spectrum of care from diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation in order to restore maximum health and quality of life of patients. A wide range of problems are being seen by CMC Physiatrists from sore joints to major disabling conditions.

Moving Towards Better Health

The CMC Rehabilitation Medicine Department aims to help patients achieve function to a maximum level and improving their quality of life as much as possible. The department practice involves other specialty in the field of medicine thus, an interdisciplinary team approach is always been considering to address patients with physical, emotional, psychosocial problems. This is done by utilizing non-surgical treatments including medication , injection, physical, occupational therapies and use of assistive devices (cane, walker) and orthotics
