The Dietary Department is an integral part of the hospital which is committed to provide excellent service in the delivery of high quality and nutritious food through an efficient Dietary service. It offers services such as Patient Food service, Dietary Counseling and Nutrition Education to patients, doctors and employees.
The primary responsibility of the department is to modify diets to maintain good nutritional status of the patient. Correcting deficiencies that may occur following assessment. Educating the patient the rationale of his prescribed diet in promoting self esteem and sense of worth.
The objectives of the department are as follows:
- To provide nutritious, attractive and balanced meals.
- To maintain a safe and clean food through careful planning, wise procurement and proper preparation.
- To offer variety and planned meals based socio-economic, culture, religious practices and idiosyncrasies.
