Admission Process

Capitol Medical Center was built and designed to provide you with a pleasant and cheerful environment while undergoing medical treatment. Competent and highly trained healthcare professionals will take care of you with the aid of our modern equipment and updated clinical procedures. Recognizing too, that you are a valued patient, we assure you of our commitment that our employees will render total quality patient care. We sincerely hope that your brief stay with us made you feel better.

Accommodation

A. Room Reservation

  • Reservations must be arranged with the Admitting Section. Confirmation of reservation made will be done by our Admitting staff a day prior to the admission.
  • B. Room Accommodation
      • Different room accommodations are available, namely:
    • 1. VIP – Private Room
    • 2. Small VIP – Cubicles (4 separate bedrooms with one common bathroom)
    • 3. Suite – Ward
    • Payment for initial services or diagnostic procedures might be required upon admission. The amount depends on the type of room accommodation. An additional amount will be requested for patients scheduled for surgery. All payments are credited to the total account of the the patient. Any excess amount will be refunded in cash upon the patient’s discharge.
    • C. Admission  for Confinement – An interview will be done by our Admitting staff. Some questions may seem unnecessary, but response to those questions would help us serve you better.
      • Company account patients are requested to bring their identification card and the authorization letter from their company to facilitate admission.
      • HMO cardholders are requested to present their cards upon admission.
  • D. Room Transfer – Arrangement may be made through the Admitting Section. You will be requested to fill up a Room Transfer Slip. A minimum amount will be charged to your account. You will also be requested to reduce to a minimum amount your hospital account.

Ambulance

Ambulance Service is available 24 hours a day. A fully equipped ambulance with a team composed of an Ambulance driver, Orderly, Nurse, and Resident Doctor is ready to attend to your needs.

Call System

Our nurses are ready to serve you at all times. When in need of assistance, you may press the plunger of the call button attached to your bedside. An emergency alarm in the bathroom can also be activated in case of immediate need.

Canteen

The canteen is located at the basement of CMC. It is open from 9:00AM to 7:30PM, Monday to Saturday. Room Service may be requested with a nominal charge. This is on a COD basis.

Chapel

The chapel is located at the 12th floor. Mass is held daily at 7:30AM in the morning. Novena prayers in honor of our Mother of Perpetual Help and the Sacred Heart of Jesus are held on Wednesdays and Fridays respectively.

Customer Relations

We would like to let you know that we have Customer Relations Officers to ensure your stay with us would be pleasant and comfortable. You may wish to give us feedback about your stay and how you were taken care of. They may personally visit you or you may fill up the Patient Evalution Form (PEF). Rest assured that your feedback will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Dietary Services

Meals are provided to patients. Extra trays may be requested from the Dietary Department for a nominal fee. For extra breakfast trays we advise you to place your order before 5:00PM. Therapeutic diet prescribed by your doctor should be strictly followed. A dietician may visit and assist in planning the diet required by your doctor. Selective menus are available for patients occupying the VIP and Suite Rooms.

Discharge from Confinement

Patients are discharged only upon doctor’s order. Such order is written on the chart. Once the discharge order is given, the patient is advised to make arrangements and secure a discharge slip from the Business Office.

Hospital Bills

Your hospital bills will be itemized so that you will know the cost of all services you availed of. The amount of Medicare and/or insurance coverage will also be indicated.

The Business Office is open 24 hours daily. Major credit cards are accepted as payments. We, however, do no accept checks.

House Staff

A core of highly trained and licensed physicians are available 24 hours a day.

Microwave

The Nursing Stations are equipped with microwaves to ensure that you can have a palatable hot meal. VIP Rooms are provided with their own microwave.

Pharmaceutical Services

Our Pharmacy Department is open 24 hours daily to serve our in-patients and out-patients. At the hospital pharmacy, you are assured of genuine  and unadulterated drugs and medicines.

PhilHealth/Medicare

If you are a PhilHealth/Medicare member or dependent, you may enjoy its benefits and get a percentage of reduction in your medical expenses. Should you wish to file your claim for Medicare benefits, you will have to submit all requirements to the Business Office.

Private Duty Nurses

Request for a private nurse may be arranged with the Head Nurse or Nurse Supervisor on duty. Settlement of fees  should be arranged privately between the private nurse and the requesting party.

Professional Fees

Professional Fees of your attending physician/s are not included in the hospital bill. It is best to discuss your possible fees with them even before your admission or before you submit to any procedure. Payment of the Physicians’ professional fees must be made at the Business Office Cashier.

Safety Deposit

Valuables are better left at home. However, if you have some valuable items, there is a hospital safe which you can use at a minimum fee. Arrangements may be made with the hospital cashier. The Medical Center will not assume responsibility for any losses unless deposited with us.

Telephones

Rooms provided with telephones go through the central switchboard. We request that you limit your calls to avoid overloading the switchboard. Telephones may be used for city calls. For long distance or overseas call, our Telephone Operator will be willing to place your call. Charges will be included in your hospital bill.

Visiting Hours and Practices

A. Visiting Hours – We rely on the good judgment of your visitor(s) to keep their visits shorts and reasonably well spaced. Visiting hours are until 9:00PM. A request that “No Visitors Allowed” may be arranged with the Nursing Station.

B. Children – Children under twelve (12) years old are advised to limit visits to avoid possible acquisition of viruses or infections.

C. No Smoking Policy – Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Watchers

In the ward, only one watcher of the same sex is allowed to stay overnight. Similarly, only one watcher is advised to take care of the patient occupying the private room. This is suggested to minimize disturbance to other patients. Responsible watchers for confined children are absolutely necessary.
